Match Report

Norwich Walsham 46 Norwich 0

Norwich Walsham 46 Norwich 0

On a crisp winter’s day, a strong Lions squad travelled to second placed North Walsham. Having been beaten at Home in the League and away in the Cup, they were under no illusions that this would be a difficult fixture.

Walsham started like an express train coming at Norwich from every angle. On 5 minutes, Walsham scored out wide. No conversion. 5 – 0.

Norwich then had a 20 minute spell on the ball, going over in the 10th minute, however the ball was dropped and the try rightly didn’t stand. We continued with wave after wave of good attacking play, the only obstacle was the resolute Walsham defence.

The next 10 minutes saw Walsham regain their poise and they score 4 quick fire tries, 2 converted.
Half Time 29 – 0.

Norwich contained the scoring for a long spell at the beginning of the second half. In fact Norwich had a couple of spells of good attacking possession during the half but just couldn’t get through. Walsham punished any Norwich errors and by the end Walsham had scored 3 more tries , one converted.
Final Score : 46 – 0

This wasn’t the one sided game as the scoreline suggests but Norwich were outplayed by the better side. We can have no complaints.

Other results in the league went in our favour and the Lion’s finished a decent fourth in the table. Thanks for this have to go to both,  Stewart Cameron and Charlie Mascall for their positive coaching during the regular season.
Well done to the Lion’s squad today for never giving up despite a heavy scoreline.
