Norwich Girls at North Walsham 10s

Norwich Girls at North Walsham 10s

This was the first outing for our U13 and U15 girls. Unfortunately not all of the Norwich players could attend and with the decision not to run an U18 section at this event we had two U13’s and five U15 girls.

While the other Norfolk clubs were invited for some strange reason the others chose not to attend which left the Norwich girls and Nth Walsham girls to mix together and play some games.
The U15’s were up first with Izzy, Ruby, Millie, Tallulah & Abbi playing with a borrowed player against 6 Nth Walsham girls.

It was really pleasing to see Norwich girls playing a match and to see how they have progressed since we started during the summer. They all got stuck into a full contact game showing the skills they have learnt over the last few week.

They all tackled, passed and supported each other during this game and from memory they all scored at least 1 try each. A fantastic effort by all of the U15’s.
The U13’s were up next and again with just two Norwich girls (Ava & Eva) they borrowed two Nth Walsham girls and so played 4 vs 4.

If anyone has played 4 v 4 you will know how physically hard that is. Both Norwich girls showed great spirit and while Ava has played for some years as a mini, Eva played like she has several years experience! In fact she has been playing for the last 4 weeks!

Both girls were in my view the best girls on the pitch as they combined really well to score several tries. Great effort.
Thanks to all who attended including parents, coaches, team manager and some of the U18 girls.
