As the 2007/2008 season comes to an end, I would like to draw your attention to a number of important events in the club especially for the month of April.
On Saturday and Sunday 12th and 13th April we are hosting a National Tournament organised by Team Tours Direct Ltd. The under 13s and 14s will play in the morning from 10.00am to 13.30pm and the under 15s and 16s from 13.30pm to 17.30pm. On the Saturday the teams will take part in a round robin series of matches with three opponents and on the Sunday there will be a semi-final and final for the best two teams from each group and a plate semi-final and final for the two lower teams in each group. We will need as much help as possible so please come and help if you can. The teams coming are Deal & Bettshanger, Hove, Wolverhampton, Pulborough, Gosport and Farhem, Bracknell, Old Rustlishians, Brentwood, Newark, Ebbw Vale, Effingham, Farehem Heathens, Sidcup, Stow, Maidstone and Rhiwibna - the tournament gives us the opportunity to raise much need funds for the club.
The Minis Festival is on Sunday 20th April and all are encouraged to support the youngest members of our club, and welcome the other clubs around.
The Annual Dinner is on Thursday 24th April, with the Youth Dinner the next day on the 25th April.
On Sunday 27th April we are hosting British Universities Sports Association Sevens Tournament, which follows the Minis BBQ.
On May 25th Radio Broadland have organised a Charity “It’s a Knockout” event with 12 teams of 10 players. This is an adult day. If anyone wishes to raise a team, the entry fee is £450. It is meant to be a business team-building exercise. Do come along if you are free to watch the fun.
The Annual Ball is on Saturday 7th June. This is the last social event of the year, so please support this event. Information should have reached you by post.
The Annual General Meeting is on Thursday 19th June. If you wish to have a say on how the club develops, then it is important to come along and make your voice heard.
Finally Mike Srokowski has resigned as President and this was accepted by the Management Committee recently. It was decided not to have a replacement for the rest of the season. We wish Mike all the best in his new business venture.
